“We have owned an off-road Heaslip Camper Trailer for 6 years and travelled 1000’s of trouble free kilometres on unsealed, extremely rough & dusty roads from Burketown to Borroloola, Mt Isa to Birdsville & Marree, Oodnadatta track, along the Darling River from Wilcannia to Bourke, and throughout Western Queensland. The Camper Trailer tows effortlessly; it has ample storage room; it is absolutely dust-proof & water-proof; the Roll-out kitchen is ideal, and the tent is quick & easy to erect.” Bruce & Geraldine Wood, Adelaide SA

“For four of the last six years, our Heaslip Traytop Camper has been our home on the road. We have lived very comfortably during this time and storage space is more than adequate. We are very happy with the ease and speed of erecting the camper including the full annexe. We are very impressed with how dust-proof the camper is despite the majority of touring being through sand & bulldust. We cannot fault the Heaslip Camper in any way - having travelled in excess of 180,000 kms through dust storms, torrential rain and camping for long periods in tropical sunshine.” Brian & Marcia Withell, Richardson ACT
We finally ventured off road in June and July on one of our many short trips with the Heaslip Camper Trailer. We travelled to the “centre” and from King Canyon used the Mereenie Loop to Palm Valley. After a short stay in Alice Springs, we travelled via Kulgera to Fink, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Hamilton to Oodnadatta – where we camped at the Algebuckina water hole and consequently due to rain, were held up at William Creek for three days until the track was suitable. Many other campers with camper trailers chose not continue on this track due to the muddy conditions – we chose to continue with our Heaslip Camper Trailer.
We were very impressed with the off-road capabilities of the Heaslip Camper Trailer. After approximately 1500 kilometres of dusty, sandy and gibber type roads there was no entry of dust to the trailer indicating the superior dust sealing of the unit. When travelling in the mud and rain again there was no problems with the sealing of the unit, everything remained dry and free from mud.
The half-roof over the kitchen that you made that is compatible with the existing front/side wall was used on several occasions and worked well and takes a very short time to erect. Ian and Jill Williamson
